Many years ago in the city of Chicago, an unlikely trio  become a friends.  One was a trial attorney who enjoyed writing fiction in her spare time.  One was an award-winning  producer and filmmaker. One was a world-famous former boxing champion. 

The three had many discussions about life, love, boxing and the sacrifices women make for their families.  Eventually, intrigued by an idea for a story about a women who becomes involved in boxing as a way to take care of her child, the lawyer sat down and wrote a screenplay about a young single mom who boxes in a reality TV show to get money to support her child.  “Final Round,” is intended to be an independent film shot in the Chicagoland area and drawing upon Chicago’s rich history of boxing and its many talented boxers past, present and future.

 It is hoped that members of the Chicago boxing community and their families and friends will be interested in participating in some capacity in “Final  Round.”  Boxers, especially female boxers will be needed for group gym and ring scenes.   Chicago area boxers who have achieved status within the boxing community may also wish to make a cameo appearance.

A portion of any profits from this film will be be donated to organizations dedicated to pension and health benefits for boxers and their families as well as studies being conducted into traumatic brain injuries and post concussive syndrome.
